Predicting The iPad’s Legacy

When Steve Jobs and Apple created the iPod, many were skeptical about its relevance and longevity. Obviously, we now know the iPad revolutionized digital music distribution and created immense value for Apple complimentary to its Mac computers.

Looking into our crystal ball, we think the iPad is likely to revolutionize and revive the printed media subscription industry. We see newspaper and magazine subscriptions having new digital life on the iPad. We also think the iPad might turn out to be the best platform for games, but this may take a few years to emerge. Finally, we believe the iPad will usher in touch screens for all electronic devices, with or without keyboards. We predict within 3 years all devices that have a display will be touch screen.
