All Students Should Be Taught To Code From An Early Age
I read about the first White House Twitter Town Hall on Wednesday, July 6 at 2 p.m. EDT moderated by Jack Dorsey. http://www.whitehouse.gov/tweetup Job creation will be a key topic. There is huge demand for developers and designers, despite millions of people already working worldwide in these fields. We can create jobs, stimulate growth and continue to lead innovation by encouraging our children to become hackers. High profile leaders of tech including Steve Jobs, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Jeff Bezos, Eric Schmidt, John Doerr and many others should come together to encourage and support code camps, courses and other forms of training. The White House should promote this as the Code Corps. Imagine the benefits of such an approach, particularly if started around the ages 10-12. Maybe someone attending the Tweetup (Erin Kotecki Vest @queenofspain) can help float this idea.
